This children's book was put together by my sister, Jacqueline Patterson, and myself, Reponsal Perkins. It was designed for the purpose of encouraging an audience of children and mothers with special needs. While organizing some ideas for our book, we decided to focus on putting into perspective the gathering of children and spiritualty; while keeping in mind the disproportionately-impacted people of color with disabilities in this socio-economic society during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As stated by the United Nations Human Rights, "We acknowledge people with disabilities, as they are disproportionately impacted due to the attitudinal, environmental and institutional barriers which are reproduced in the COVID-19 response." There can be discrimination in ethnicity pertaining to the administration of cultural support, financial support, and educational tools. Thank God for the communities, families, and churches! Their support can be unified through raising awareness for better accessibility to health care, improved communication, specific formats, counseling, and accessible COVID-testing. In this book we hope to reach people with disabilities through our Esther and Martha characters.
It is hoped that this book will be used as an educational tool for all people regardless of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, or sexual orientation.

About the Author
"Through one's faith, we can all be true believers in ourselves through our faith in God." Jacqueline Patterson is a loving mother and grandmother, a devoted wife; and above all else, a true lover and follower of Jesus Christ. Jacqueline was raised in church as a young child, and throughout her life she has been devoted to His will. She is active in church and is a missionary for the Lord. If she is not at church or working in the community, she is home spending time with her family. Jacqueline has always had a niche for writing. For years, she would create stories within her mind; and one by one would meticulously piece those stories together. However, she never really had the time to put those amazing stories on paper, until now with the encouragement from her husband who always stayed on her about, "When you going to write that book?" Jacqueline's deep passion is how to create a world of peace when shaping children's books while using a lens to reflect brown and black people. She vows to contribute children's books to help end domestic and sexual violence, as well as ending world hunger by writing one book at a time. She shared her goal one evening in a conversation with her younger sister, Dr. Jocelyn Enabulele, about someday writing a Christian-based kids' book. By the grace of God and with Jocelyn's help, along with the help of her sister, Reponsal Perkins, Will the Sun Come Out, came about.
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:6
