When he's caught reading a hidden page of scripture, he's saved-not punished-by an unlikely figure: Thomas Bell, a disillusioned white slave owner with a secret agenda. Bell educates Wilbert in secret, sharing forbidden knowledge about the true roots of white supremacy, global power, and the lies that have shaped the American institution of slavery. But when Bell dies, Wilbert is left alone with a dangerous mission: to awaken the minds of the enslaved and dismantle the system from within. Risking torture and death, Wilbert builds an underground network of education and rebellion, teaching over a hundred slaves to read, think, and fight back. As his legend spreads, so does the fear among plantation owners.Set against a backdrop of thunderous brutality, spiritual conflict, and rising revolution, WILBERT LEE is a harrowing yet inspiring tale of transformation-where truth battles lies, man defies God, and the enslaved confront their masters not just with weapons, but with knowledge.
