Iona

Four years ago I became trapped in a nightmare with no exit. I convinced my best friend to identify the man who assaulted her, but my own assailant was never found. Even now, after I hear her attacker is dead, I can’t rest easy, suspecting my own still roams at large.

I want to set my troubled mind at rest and bring my assaulter to justice. So upon meeting a lawyer who represents the criminal underworld, I hope to hire him for his contacts and experience. But he takes me aback by blackmailing me into marrying him. I don’t believe his stated reason for making me his wife.

And I’m confused by how he makes me feel. Am I finally yearning for a man or just having an adrenaline rush from committing something wicked?

My best friend has just been killed, and I vow to avenge him. Step one: arrange for the woman who was the driving force behind his death to interview me. Step two: manipulate her into seeking me out. Step three: blackmail her into marriage.

Step four: use our marriage to torture and do away with her.

But my new wife inspires much more in me than the urge for revenge. I want to own her, breed her, do wicked things to her.

Is my past merely pulling me to her, or does my future demand I figure out how to keep my wife alive?

This dark mafia romance, number five in the Tainted Love series, can be enjoyed as a standalone.
