Why Babies Suck is a practical guide for parents whose babies struggle to feed.
Thousands of parents are told their baby’s feeding struggles are “normal newborn behavior.” Yet deep down, something feels wrong. Painful breastfeeding, constant feeding, reflux, gas, colic, and endless crying leave parents exhausted and searching for answers.
Why Babies Suck helps you understand what your baby may be trying to communicate during feeding and why some babies struggle from the very beginning. Written by Dr. Thomas, this guide helps parents recognize early feeding dysfunction and understand what steps can help their baby feed more comfortably.
Inside you will find:
- Clear signs that indicate common early infant feeding problems
- Why babies may struggle to latch to the breast or bottle
- Causes of painful breastfeeding, sore nipples, and nipple damage
- How feeding struggles connect to reflux, gas, colic, and sleep disruption
- Signs that oral function issues, such as tongue tie, lip tie, or buccal tie, may be involved
- Guidance on when to seek additional support for feeding challenges
- How to build the right care team to support your baby
Why parents trust this book:
- Written by Dr. Thomas, who has helped thousands of families understand infant feeding dysfunction
- Focused on real challenges parents experience during the first days, weeks, and months of life
- Helps parents recognize when feeding behavior may signal a deeper functional issue
- Clear explanations that help parents understand what their baby may be communicating during feeds
What you will learn:

Confident parenting starts here! Feeding your baby should not feel impossible. With the right understanding and the right team, it does not have to be.
