INSIGHTS ON SELF AWARENESS, PERSONAL GROWTH AND COMMUNICATION WITH OTHERS
Why do we continually hide our real selves from the people around us? Why are we so insecure and afraid to open up ? We reach maturity as people by communicating and interacting with others. What happens to our real selves if no one else finds out what we are really like?
John Powell explains how to be more emotionally open, and shows how people adopt roles and play psychological games to protect their inner selves. The courage to be our real selves can be developed, he says: only then can we begin to grow.
John Powell, a Jesuit priest, is the author of the best-selling companion volume ' Why Am I Afraid to Love'
