First UK Edition, first impression; very clean original binding with blue-green cloth boards with silver gilt letters to the spine; hard spine tips and boards with sharp corners; slight flap shadow to end papers; no previous owner's marks or gift dedication; very clean and tight text block with no spotting or sunning. Dust jacket condition: Very Good: very clean graphic artwork to front panel and to spine, with white verso with slight marks and one very small closed tear to the bottom edge; one small closed tear to upper spine tip edge and slight scuffs to spine and flap bends; small tape support residues to underside of wrapper at spine tips and flap bend edges, otherwise Very Good; not price clipped (9s 0d).
