If Not you then Who? (Paperback)

The Sparks kids have a secret: they can travel back in time! But their adventures aren't just for fun-they journey into the past to save the world's greatest inventions.

In Who Turned Out the Lights?, Brooke, Noah, Graham, and Lily Sparks travel to 1880 to protect one of the most important inventions of all time: the electric light bulb. When the world suddenly goes dark, replaced by candles and gas lamps, the kids know their old enemy Emperor Entropy is meddling with history. He has stopped Thomas Edison from inventing the light bulb, threatening to leave future generations in darkness.

With the help of their scientist parents and their lovable robot dog, Chronos, the Sparks kids race to Menlo Park, New Jersey, to find Edison. But they discover he's abandoned the light bulb for a frivolous gadget. Now, it's up to the Sparks siblings to rekindle his spark of ingenuity before Emperor Entropy succeeds in erasing electric light forever.

Packed with adventure, humor, and real history, Who Turned Out the Lights? is the first in the new chapter book mystery series based on the best-selling If Not You, Then Who? non-fiction educational series.

Each story explores what life would be like if an important invention had never been created-while the Sparks kids show how curiosity, creativity, and courage can save the day.

Emberli Pridham grew up in Dallas, Texas, inspired by her grandmother, an author, and by a wonderful library of books. Along with her husband, David, she co-authors the Amazon best-selling STEM series If Not You, Then Who?, which teaches children about the inventions and patents in everyday life, empowering them to imagine and create their own.

She is also the author of Real-Life Fairy Tales, a children's series that includes Princess Diana: A Real-Life Fairy Tale; Princess Grace: A Real-Life Fairy Tale; and Jacqueline Kennedy: A Real-Life Fairy Tale. Each book chronicles the inspiring lives of renowned women who rose from relative anonymity to become global icons, leaving contributions that changed the world.

In addition to developing new titles for both series, Emberli devotes her time to caring for her family and supporting philanthropic causes, including the Hasbro Children's Hospital, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Symphony, Elton John AIDS Foundation, and American Cancer Society.

Pridham's lyrical tone and subtle rhymes shape her writing style, helping young readers stay engaged as they move from page to page. As a designer, she also pays careful attention to the look of her books, with Real-Life Fairy Tales featuring watercolor-inspired illustrations that bring the stories to life.

Through these works, Emberli hopes to preserve the legacies of Princess Grace, Princess Diana, and other remarkable women for future generations.
