About this Item
"This 5.125 x 7.0 inch, 14 page softcover book is the 1911 first printing by Scribner's as indicated by that date on the title page and the notation on the copyright page "Copyright, 1911, Published May 1911." This small item is paper-wrapped with a stiff outer paper covering with grey folded paper wrappers, with title, author, and vignette of the American flag on the cover. This item is in very good condition with some cover wear, a touch of fading to the edges, and a penciled name on the front cover which is now faded and barely discernible. The interior is in very good condition and possibly better, with some age toning to the paper and two pages showing a very small dog-ear to the top corner but beyond that there are no markings or damage to note. This pamphlet reprints the author's poem that he presented to the Phi Beta Kappa fraternity at Harvard University, June 1910. The poem attempted to encapsulate the full patriotism of the American experience - - from the founding of the country through its expansion westward and now in the opening years of the twentieth century the United States standing as a beacon of hope and advancement for the world. 14 pages.".
