Paperback. In ancient times, the White Statue was the proudest achievement of a great civilization. When an order of Corsairs sought to take the statue's power for themselves, it was hidden where no mortal would dare look for it. Now, the secluded scholar Ara-Vayne believes he has found evidence that may lead him to the Statue's resting place. After a chance meeting, he joins up with the young swordsman Mrylin, a wanderer whose only real friend is a northern raven with a wicked sense of humor. Together, they will cross oceans and deserts, face the djinni of the wastes, and contend with enemies both human and otherwise. For the Corsairs have lasted down to the present day, waiting for their opportunity to claim the Statue as their own . . . no matter how much blood must be shed. For Ara-Vayne and Mrylin, what begins as an archaeological expedition will quickly become a fight for their lives against men motivated by a hatred that has been building for a thousand years. "Pendrey writes with incredible confidence and wit. Her world is vivid, her villains are sinister, her characters worth knowing. THE WHITE STATUE is thrilling, hilarious, and fresh." -Sean T. M. Stiennon, author of SIX WITH FLINTEYE and MEMORY WIPE This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from our UK warehouse or from our Australian or US warehouses, depending on stock availability.…
