Fourth Impression. 8vo. original blue boards (rubbed and a little bumped, some splitting to lower hinge, a little thumbed, else internally unmarked; lacks dustwrapper); pp. 240, with 39 plates, folding panorama + double-page plan. A good copy. [Neate H41: The author, an Austrian mountaineer, took part in the first ascent of the Eiger North Face in 1938 after there had been several attempts and fatalities]. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Second Impression 1960 Hardcover with pictorial Dustjacket: 240 pages and illustrations and fold out photograph of the peak with a slight ruffle to the outside edge (see photographs). Dustjacket has wear to edges and spine edges, rounded corners, very light foxing and offset yellowing to ffep. Ruffling and small tears to spine crown and base. An old tear which was repaired from the inside of the jacket has come away from the old tape (see photograph) but still sits well.
