Paperback. Seven-year-old Oliver discovers the stars aren't silent; they whisper lullabies. When a tiny emerald star falls silent, a glowing "Star-Seed" named Pip appears from the fading planet Verdalia.A thick cloud of "Forgotten Wishes" has blocked the Whispering Star's song, and Verdalia's alien ecosystem-its singing moss and trumpet-flowers-is dying. Oliver must use his grandfather's invention, the Leafwing Glider, to travel to space.Joined by his sleepy dog Barnaby (wearing flying goggles) and Pip, Oliver navigates the galaxy. He learns that the only way to clear the cloud is through empathy, kindness, and gentle care, using his gardening skills and a song to restore the planet and remind it how to bloom.
