Item description from seller

Asimov Where Do We Go From Here? Doubleday Science Fiction 1971 Book Club Edition First Print gutter code M26. Dust jacket has two brown stains on front and spine. All 441 pages are tightly bound with no marks of any kind. ISBN 10: 0385029357 The collection was deliberately created to show that science fiction, in Asimov's words, "has the potential as an inspiring and useful teaching device." His stated goal in the introduction is to "inspire curiosity and lead the student into lines of questioning of his own that may interest and excite him and may even determine the future direction of his career." After each story, Asimov comments on the story's scientific authenticity and historical context and then poses questions to the reader to make them think about the contents. This short story anthology has the following stories: "A Martian Odyssey", by Stanley G. Weinbaum. "Night", Don A. Stuart. "The Day is Done", Lester del Rey. Heavy Planet", Milton A. Rothman. "--And He Built a Crooked House--", Robert A. Heinlein. "Proof", Hal Clement. "A Subway Named Mobius", A.J. Deutsch. "Surface Tension", James Blish. Country Doctor", William Morrison. "The Holes Around Mars", Jerome Bixby. "The Deep Range", Arthur C. Clarke. "The Cave of Night", James E. Gunn. "Dust Rag", Hal Clement. "Pâté de Foie Gras", Isaac Asimov. "Omnilingual", H. Beam Pipe. "The Big Bounce", Walter S. Tevis. "Neutron Star", Larry Niven. After each story, Asimov comments on the story's scientific authenticity and historical context and then poses questions to the reader to make them think about the contents.…
