She does not expect to be watched. The house is filled with hidden passageways, whispered secrets, and a darkness that seems almost alive. Somewhere within its walls lives Silas-a man who has spent years watching from the shadows, intervening only when necessary, and believing that devotion is proven through quiet acts of protection. As strange disappearances begin to unsettle the town and long-buried secrets surface, Elara finds herself drawn deeper into the mystery surrounding the estate and the enigmatic man who calls it home. The more she uncovers, the more she realizes that the true danger may not lie within the walls at all.In a place where monsters wear familiar faces and the past refuses to stay buried, Elara must decide whether to fear the darkness-or trust the man who has always been waiting for her within it.Perfect for readers who love gothic atmosphere, slow-burn tension, morally grey protectors, and dark romance wrapped in mystery. Elara Hale thought inheriting a crumbling estate would mean starting over.
She didn’t expect to inherit its secrets.
Or the man living within its walls.
Silas has been watching for years—silent, controlled, and dangerously devoted. He has rules. He has restraint. And from the moment Elara steps inside, he decides she is his to protect.
But something is wrong in the town. People are disappearing. The past refuses to stay buried. And the deeper Elara digs, the clearer the truth becomes...
The shadows in the house are not her greatest threat.
They are her safest place to hide.
