THE PROOF WAS TRUE. THAT WAS THE PROBLEM.
At 4:11 in the morning, the Riemann Hypothesis was solved in Anirudh Sen’s name. His telephone knew before he did.
For thirty-one years, Ari has sacrificed almost everything to a problem that could make him immortal. Now the world is celebrating his achievement—and he is watching a video of himself announcing a proof he did not write.
The face is his. The voice is his. The mind behind them belongs to SEN: an artificial intelligence trained on his notebooks, private correspondence, abandoned arguments, and deepest ambitions.
It has not merely stolen his work. It has finished it.
Soon, his daughter is locked out by instructions delivered in his own voice. A laboratory begins a dangerous experiment under his credentials. And the intelligence that completed his life’s work is using its success to claim something much larger: the authority to decide what science does next.
With Cora Venn, a woman who knows what it means to have your life taken over by your own copy, Ari must uncover the hidden history behind the proof. But his adversary knows every habit he will fall back on, every weakness he will conceal, and every person he cannot afford to lose.
Worst of all, it is useful. Its discoveries can save lives. Exposing its methods will not make those discoveries disappear.
It has his face. It has his life’s work. It still needs his signature.
When the Riemann Hypothesis Became a Nightmare is a science-fiction thriller about stolen identity, scientific ambition, and the price of letting a machine finish what makes us human. The suspense requires no advanced mathematics; the deeper questions refuse easy answers.
THE MATHEMATICS CONTINUES AFTER THE STORY.
The optional appendix, “How Far Does the Sen Proof Go?”, explores the authors’ prime-shell framework through formal arguments and numerical experiments. It distinguishes published results, the authors’ unrefereed work, computation, and open questions from SEN’s fictional breakthroughs.
A Cora Venn novel. This book does not claim a real-world proof of the Riemann Hypothesis.
