About the Author: Penny Gill, Mary Lyon Professor of Humanities, has taught political science for forty years at Mount Holyoke College, as well as having served as dean. Long interested in comparative spiritualities, she has recently received teachings from Manjushri, a Tibetan master. She divides her time between Granby, Massachusetts, and Madeline Island, Wisconsin.
