Item description from seller

A scarce, and delightful, children's book from the early twentieth century, printed on cloth. A charming early production from Dean's Rag Book Co. Founded in 1903 as an offshoot of Dean & Son, Dean's Rag Book Company produced durable cloth books for children, featuring zig-zag cut edges and washable materials, making them ideal for young readers. This work is a picture dictionary for children, containing a visual assortment of everyday objects, including utensils, flowers, fruit, tools, toys, household goods, and furniture. The book is illustrated by Vernon Edward BarrettUndated, dated circa 1906 via Jacqueline Reid-Walsh's 'Rag Books: Dean and Son'.A delightfully vibrantly illustrated work. In the publisher's original sewn cloth wrappers. Fraying to wrap heads and tails, otherwise externally lovely. Internally, firmly bound. Illustrations vibrant, but with significant handling marks to cloth, and fraying to wrap heads and tails. Minor hole in cloth to verso of front wrap. Very Good.
