- Book 1 of 16: John Decker Supernatural Thrillers
NYPD detective John Decker thinks his family’s dark past is behind him when he’s offered the job as town sheriff in his sleepy southern hometown. Happy for a change in scenery, and a quieter way of life, he accepts the position.
But when a pair of mutilated bodies are found in the woods just days before a massive storm is due to make landfall, the similarities dredge up the horrific memories of his mother’s unsolved murder almost thirty years ago. A murder that drove his father to madness and an early grave, and John to abandon his high school sweetheart and escape to New York.
The Medical Examiner insists that the killer cannot be human…but that’s ridiculous. There are no large predators in the area. The men were clearly targeted by someone…or something.
As the skies darken and the weather worsens, more bodies pile up.
But what is the connection? He must find out who—or what—is behind these attacks. Because if he doesn’t, the next victim might, once again, be someone he loves…
Part mystery, part supernatural thriller, you won’t want to stop reading until the very end.
If you are a fan of James Rollins, Douglas Preston, or Lincoln Child, you will love the John Decker series.
What Readers Are Saying
★★★★★ "The plot was amazing. Perfect mix of mystery, suspense, and romance with a bit of supernatural." - Amazon review
★★★★★ "An exciting and fast-paced read! In the best traditions of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Bentley Little, et al, Anthony M Strong has delivered a rollicking read where alongside a well-told, thrilling story, you get fine characterization which makes you care about the people populating this tale! I would heartily recommend it - I am looking forward to reading more of his work..."- F Dalgleish, Amazon review
★★★★★ “Suspense at its best. I flew through the story. It had action, terror, and a thick plot.” – Amazon review
★★★★★ “I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like a little supernatural in their crime story.” – Amazon review
★★★★★ "Well-written, more literate than most books in this genre. A spooky atmosphere, a bit of horror laced with mystery, and decently developed characters make this book worth the read. I've already ordered the sequels. Those who enjoy the creepy paranormal should keep an eye on this author; nothing "cozy" about his style!" – Amazon review
★★★★★ “This entire series is a joy to read. Well written. Interesting storylines. Characters increasingly developed with each new book. Highly, highly recommended.” – Amazon review
★★★★★ "This is a really good read from start to finish, if you like a bit of horror combined with an interesting historical legend and a bit of mystery then this is the book for you." - Amazon review
★★★★★ "This was an amazing book, it had something of everything. Romance, suspense, and horror. I loved that the book was written from quite a few people's perspectives as you got to follow the story a lot better. I could not put it down and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good, but easy read. It flowed beautifully and kept me up till the late hours of the night. I'm just sad it is done, but can't wait for number two." – Corine, Goodreads Review
