Today, the historical link between the religious and the spiritual has been broken, and more people are beginning to see spiritual health as separate from the practice of a religion. The spiritual is viewed as an inherent part of humans, and every person is inseparable from it, whether or not they follow a religion. People now acknowledge that the spiritual aspect of health, like the physical, is a practical concept that must be nurtured daily for optimal well-being.
At its core, spiritual health involves confronting the deeper issues of our inner reality, embracing our authentic selves, and actively nurturing our higher selves. This higher self guides us to pursue a truly fulfilling life, one that transcends any spiritual, religious, or social ideology. Achieving spiritual health is not only necessary but a deliberate process that compels us to reshape our imagination and willpower. By nurturing our whole selves and adopting a holistic way of living, we can significantly improve the well-being of society and humanity as a whole.
Spiritual health is essential to human health and development, providing a holistic approach to life. The book offers insights into what modern science is revealing about the spiritual nature of humans and their spiritual health. It discusses spiritual health as a scientific phenomenon, not as a matter of theology or philosophy. Its goal is to help readers recognize the vital role of the "real self" as the guiding principle in human life beyond doctrinal religion and spiritual philosophy. Our collective spiritual well-being is the most valuable resource we have to enhance human life and restore global order. It is urgently needed if we are to address the unique challenges and problems of our time.
