Why Have What Lucy’s Having?
Want to eat great tasting food that makes you feel great too? I’ve brought together ideas and recipes that I’ve used to improve my health whilst eating delicious, easy meals.
We all want to feel better in ourselves and we know that what we put into our bodies makes a difference, but too often our busy lives get in the way of doing what we know is best for our long term health.
This book aims to show you quick, easy ways to improve your meals, so that they taste great and make you feel great too.
All the food we eat affects our bodies in different ways. There’s so much dietary information and advice out in the world, that understanding it becomes a bit of a minefield, so I’ve concentrated on using real ingredients, simply prepared, to make delicious dishes that all the family can enjoy, whilst providing healthy nutrition for long term better health.
Recent science shows that different foods increase our blood glucose at different rates. Simple refined carbohydrates, such as sugars, potatoes, pasta and rice, can cause the biggest increases in blood glucose, which causes a spike that over time is damaging to our bodies and results in Type 2 Diabetes, heart conditions, and some cancers.
The ingredients and combinations that I use, aim to help to reduce your body’s glucose responses, which in turn reduces the amount of damage caused to your body, so that you can enjoy feeling good now, tomorrow and in the future!
