Word search puzzles are one of many types of word games, which are designed to both challenge and stimulate the mind.Unlike cross word puzzles, which give clues to the words needed to fill in the blanks of the puzzle, words search puzzles present a group of apparently random letters that conceal words that must be identified within the puzzle.These word search puzzles were one of several tools developed and utilized by Rev. Wendell Wharton as part of a Bible study program for the youth and young adult ministry.

Rev. Wendell S. Wharton, Jr. is a Christian believer. He is a licensed and ordained Baptist minister. He has been preaching and teaching the gospel since 1999. In addition to his ministerial experience, Rev. Wharton is a licensed and board certified physician assistant. He has been practicing medicine since 1978. Having learned a number of “life lessons”-as a product of the Los Angeles inner city public school system (determination), a high school and college letterman (perseverance), a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity (fun community service), an Air Force Security Service veteran (analysis), a UCLA graduate (memorization), a Christian (faith), and a health-care professional (compassion)-Rev. Wharton developed a unique philosophy on life, which he shared through his unique teaching style and way of facilitating learning. This Bible-based Word Search Puzzle Book is one of the results of his creative approach to teaching. A former assistant professor at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, he received the Outstanding Instructor Award in 1989, 1991, and in 1993. For his twenty-plus years of service to his profession, he has been awarded the status of Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
