Paperback. Terror, a notorious gang member from California, relocates to the East Coast, hoping to leave his violent past behind and build a new life in New York City. There, he falls in love with Jennifer, a woman with a young son named Nelson, who goes by the street name "Royal." Over time, Terror becomes a father figure to Royal, teaching him everything he knows about surviving in the harsh world he's left behind. But when Terror is sentenced to a life sentence in federal prison, he is forced to leave the streets for good. Upon arriving at USP Big Sandy, he reconnects with an old friend, Puppet. Together, they devise a plan to dominate the criminal underworld, but only a few people earn Terror's trust-one of them being Royal, who idolizes his stepfather's reputation and craves the power and influence that comes with it. As Royal ascends to the throne, he faces intense trials, battling rivals, and confronting the deadly pressures of street life. While some question whether Royal has truly earned his position, those who doubt him quickly learn that disloyalty comes with a heavy price. In this gritty urban tale, loyalty is tested, and the line between family and business is blurred. Pressure can break people-or turn them into diamonds. As Terror's influence wanes and Royal's rise to power intensifies, the question remains: Will he stay true to his mentor, or will ambition and betrayal tear everything apart?
