Today virtually every top star in the sport of bodybuilding uses the Weider system of training. Joe Weider now makes this internationally acclaimed system available to bodybuilders in book form for the first time. In this new star-studded book, the "Trainer of Champions" details his time-tested training principles that are guaranteed to help any bodybuilder at any level get the most out of his or her training. The Weider System of Bodybuilding includes the Weider Cycle Training Principle, the Weider Instinctive Training Principle, and nearly twenty Weider training intensifica- tion techniques. The book emphasizes how to train each muscle group of the body by offering more than 100 fully illustrated exercises divided among the major muscle groups: abdominals, upper arms, forearms, calves, chest, back, deltoids, and thighs. Following the exercise descriptions are more than 100 individual training routines of the champions. Every top bodybuilder has contributed a routine: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Franco Columbu, Frank Zane, Mike Mentzer, Larry Scott, Sergio Oliva, Casey Viator, Tom Platz, Chris Dickerson, Roy Callender, Dennis Tinerino, and more. Joe Weider began his lifetime involvement with bodybuilding in 1936. Three years later, while still in his teens, he founded the magazine known today as Muscle & Fitnes (worldwide circulation is now in excess of half a million). Joe Weider has trained almost every leading bodybuilder in America during the past 30 years, including Steve Reeves, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno, Frank Zane, Rachel McLish, Lisa Lyon, and Franco Columbu. He is affectionately known among bodybuilding's elite as "The Master Blaster" and "The Father of American Bodybuilding." Joe Weider has authored several books, including the bestselling Bodybuilding: The Weider Approach, The Weider Book of Bodybuilding for Women, and The Best of Joe Weider's Muscle & Fitness series. In private life, he is an avid art and antiques collector. Bill Reynolds is editor-in-chief of Muscle & Fitness and has held that position since 1978. He is an avid weight trainer and has written scores of articles and books on weight training, bodybuilding, and fitness, including Weight Training for Beginners, published by Contemporary Books, Inc.
