Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - A promising silhouette peeks from beneath unfortunate floral chintz at a flea market. For many, this is a moment of victory, the discovery of a hidden treasure. But for the untrained eye, it can be the beginning of a costly and frustrating lesson in the hidden architecture of furniture.Beneath the skin of old fabric often lies a skeleton of cheap particleboard and broken joints, an illusion held together only by tension. This book chronicles the common disasters that befall aspiring restorers, from chairs that structurally destroy themselves upon stripping to frames that crumble like stale cookies when a staple is removed. The Weekend Upholsterer provides the 'X-ray vision' needed to spot good bones and leave the junk behind. It teaches the tactile arts of the lift test, the wobble test, and the squeeze test, transforming you from a shopper into a structural engineer. Learn to decode the undercarriage, spot fatal flaws like water damage, and understand the true math of a rescue project before you bring it home.Discover the secret language of furniture and gain the confidence to save the pieces that truly deserve a second life.…
