Print on Demand. This book explores the complexities of marriage and female friendship in the upper echelons of 19th century British society. With many women expected to marry for status and wealth, the author delves into the hidden desires and expectations hidden behind the facade of conventional marriage. The author provides insight into the role that passion and genuine affection should play in relationships, contrasting societal expectations with the private dilemmas faced by 19th-century women. By doing so, this book sheds light on the universal struggle between duty, self-fulfillment, and the pursuit of genuine happiness in love and marriage. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.
