Simpson passed away in 2020 and is described inthis remembrance in theAnchorage Daily Newsas a "beloved friend and mentor to a whole generation of Alaska writers." Her later book Dominion of Bearswon the John Burroughs Medal for natural history writing in 2015. A small quarto of eight essays on wolves, grizzlies, ravens, winter, and more. Burbs by Robert Michael Pyle and John A. Murray. A fine copy in a near fine jacket with a Borders "autographed copy" sticker on the front panel at lower right and Borders price sticker on the rear; the price on the front flap has been crossed out with a Sharpie.
