Store description

We buy and sell primarily out of print, collectible and rare books. We sell online and at rare book fairs; we do not have a store location. I started in the book trade in 1980, cutting my teeth at two of the most venerable bookstores in the country, Powell's Bookstore, Portland, OR., and Acres of Books, Long Beach, CA. I started my own store, William James-Bookseller, in 1987, in the scenic and culturally vibrant seaport town of Port Townsend, WA., selling the shop in 2012 to Paul Stafford. I have since operated online, and I also handle rare and collectible books for La Playa Books, San Diego, CA. Thank you for shopping with us!
