Fifth edition. xii, 160pp, with numerous calculations, diagrams etc in text. Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt decoration and lettering. 12mo. Cloth lightly rubbed on corners and spine ends, with some minor indentations. Top text block edge dust dulled. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A classic physics and mathematical treatise written by the British scientist C A Coulson, first published in 1941: designed primarily as an introductory text, it bridges the gap between basic physics concept of linear wave motion and the advanced mathematics required to understand the phenomena of waves.
