‘After reading the first four lines, I knew I would want to read the book cover to cover. Instead, I closed the book immediately and kept the feeling close to me until the next day… Wave of Blood feels like an antidote to social media.’ —Blake Butler
‘Wave of Blood is about humiliation, witness, and unforgiveness in our glassy, red-edged shard of history, which Reines describes as “an age of the slaughter of children.” It is a bewildering, heart-wrenching, candid, alarming, appalling, defenseless book. Defenseless meaning naked, un-walled…’ — Bookforum
