"A powerful journey through space, time, light, and enduring love." — Kirkus Reviews
Two great cosmic beings traveling the cosmos are drawn into a struggle for a world's existence. Our Mother and Her Love enjoy exploring the universe, wandering wherever their whims may take them—until they get sucked into a void and wake up compressed, small, stuck, unable to remember their true natures.
A Story of Hope, Endurance, and the Ultimate Triumph of Light
They feel listless, like something is missing. Taking a boat to a distant shore, they create a new home and discover a crystal that responds to the light within them. As their family and community grow, so does the crystal, shining its light and hope across the land.
Even after Our Mother and Her Love die, the crystal's light and knowledge continue down through the generations. They are born again from time to time, always finding each other to further spread the light and hope. But the void and its evil presence will not be denied—darkness comes to their lands, and for countless generations, the people are subjugated and exploited.
An Engrossing, Eons-Spanning Story
It is only with the continued rebirths of Our Mother and Her Love, and the aid of the crystal shard, that the darkness can be pushed back. Told in the manner of a folktale passed down to keep the story alive, this fantasy novella serves as an allegory for much of human history.
Beautiful Black-and-White Illustrations Throughout
With the author's evocative illustrations included throughout the text, this tale of hope and endurance features Lefebvre's poetic prose: "Life is beautiful, but attach not your heart to appearances that bloom and wither like summer flowers."
"An enjoyable one-sitting read." — Kirkus Reviews
A luminous tale of cosmic beings and planetary life, where the boundaries between stars and souls dissolve.
In this evocative novella, follow the extraordinary lives of Our Mother and Her Beloved as they navigate the mysteries of existence. Their story transcends their mortal constraints, exploring the eternal dance between light and darkness, freedom and folly, clarity and chaos.
As civilizations rise and fall around them, their duty remains: preserving the eternal light, which will erase domination from this planet.
This timeless allegory speaks to the radiance that dwells within each of us―a light that can be dimmed but never extinguished, a light that connects us to something far greater than ourselves, waiting... For even now, as you read these words, it shines within you.
A timeless philosophical tale, illustrated with evocative imagery that bridges the cosmic and the intimate.
