Bridging cutting-edge biochemical advances with practical application, this essential reference empowers researchers and engineers to transform low-cost waste biomass into the clean energy and sustainable biomaterials of tomorrow.
The onset of the industrial revolution and the expansion of automotive use have driven a heavy reliance on fossil fuels, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable, low-impact alternatives. Waste biomass has emerged as one of the most promising and cost-effective renewable resources for cleaner energy. By tapping into modern biotechnology and biochemical tools, biomass offers a practical pathway toward a more sustainable future. This book offers an accessible yet comprehensive look at current research in biofuels, biochemicals, and biomaterials. It covers key advances in biomass processing, conversion technologies, catalysis, bioprocess engineering, and microbial fuel cells for producing clean energy and fine chemicals. Ideal for anyone exploring new research ideas and as a handy reference for active scientists and engineers, this text provides a practical guide to turning waste biomass into viable bioenergy.
