This book contains biographies of the generals who served under George Washington in the Revolutionary War; the more prominent generals receive a full chapter, while the lesser-known generals are treated in a page or so. This book is a reprint of the 1847 original edition published by Carey & Hart and was not printed with the 16 portraits that accompanied the first edition. This is a stated "New Edition, with Corrections." Original green cloth publisher's covers with gilt spine lettering; to edge is gilt. There is a little light wear to the extremities at the spine, and several pages were crimped at the top corner at one time. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates.; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 324, 336 pages. Seller Inventory # 20942
