Neuware - Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland's forgotten corner is home to Scotland's most famous song writer Robert Burns. Yet the music of this region goes widely unrecognised. This 5 book collection represents the past, the present and the future of South West Scotland's musical heritage. Volumes 1 and 2 (the past) contain 100 tunes each including: Burns, old fiddle and piano music, and Scots song all arranged for bagpipe, and old pipe tunes that you might not have realised have ties to the area. It's the biggest collection of Burns music ever done for the pipe. Volumes 3 and 4 (the present) contain modern compositions from the regions top players. 'Wan fur the Weans' (the future) is a fun collection to get young hands playing and having fun learning about the heritage of South West Scotland. '.this wonderful collection forces us to recognise that South West Scotland (Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway) has had a profound influence on our music.' - Bill Livingstone, Pipe Major of World Pipe Band Championships winning band and Top Soloist 'When I first received my review copies of this collection I was truly astounded at the breadth of the collection and the research that had been carried out in compiling it. With the use of Scots language in the introductions and stories, there is an integrity and passion demonstrated towards the music and culture of the region. For me it is a unique and ground breaking collection which I am sure will be enjoyed by many pipers from well beyond the boundaries of the South of Scotland.' - Roddy MacLeod, Principal, The National Piping Centre '.some of the best collections of pipe music I've been through in some time. Meticulously researched, with lots of interesting information on the composers and the tunes, this is the first time the piping heritage of the South West has been celebrated, from Burns right through to today' - John Mulhearn, Instructor, The National Piping Centre 'This collection is a fantastic document of the rich talent held within Scotland's south west. I applaud Karen for her passionate love of our music and her special interest in the music born from our part of Scotland.' - Stuart Robertson, WAPOL.…
