Paperback. The longest night of Nikolai Crowe's life begins with a corpse and his name written all over it. His ex-girlfriend, Jade Sho, is dead, and Nikolai has been framed for her murder. With the city closing in and nowhere left to hide, he has only one chance to survive: uncover why she was killed and who wanted him to take the fall. The streets aren't on his side. Crooked cops who are hunting for him are eager to put him in the ground rather than behind bars. Every hour tightens the noose. Every mistake could be Nikolai's last.Detective Lucas Knox is assigned to bring Crowe in, but something about the case doesn't sit right. Doubt gnaws at him, pulling his investigation off the books and into a maze of lies, corruption, and blood. The deeper Knox digs, the clearer it becomes that the truth may cost him his badge-or his life.Nikolai's only ally is being that shouldn't exist: a human clone known as Alpha Replica 3007. Escaped from Mill Rock Island along with others like it, the Replica leads Nikolai toward a secret Jade hid before she died-evidence powerful enough to expose much more than her real killer. But secrets don't stay buried without a fight. And in a city built on shadows, the question isn't just whether Nikolai will find the truth-it's whether he'll live long enough to use it. The streets aren’t on his side. Crooked cops who are hunting for him are eager to put him in the ground rather than behind bars. Every hour tightens the noose. Every mistake could be Nikolai’s last.
Detective Lucas Knox is assigned to bring Crowe in, but something about the case doesn’t sit right. Doubt gnaws at him, pulling his investigation off the books and into a maze of lies, corruption, and blood. The deeper Knox digs, the clearer it becomes that the truth may cost him his badge—or his life.
Nikolai’s only ally is being that shouldn’t exist: a human clone known as Alpha Replica 3007. Escaped from Mill Rock Island along with others like it, the Replica leads Nikolai toward a secret Jade hid before she died—evidence powerful enough to expose much more than her real killer.
But secrets don’t stay buried without a fight. And in a city built on shadows, the question isn’t just whether Nikolai will find the truth—it’s whether he’ll live long enough to use it.
