Walk, Run, Train - 90 Day Plan to build regular exercise into your life
Many people struggle to find time for regular exercise as they go about their busy lives.
So Walk, Run, Train provides a simple plan that just about anyone can use to get active again with confidence, to build regular exercise into their lives, reclaim their health and get their lives back too!
And it can be a struggle because, despite our best intentions, modern lifestyles can be a trap for many of us, men and women alike. We can be so busy in our daily lives that we just become less active without really noticing it. It all seems so benign and yet a sedentary lifestyle has serious consequences not just for our fitness but for our health and wellbeing as well.
What are these consequences? You might not be seriously overweight, maybe a few pounds over, so is this really a problem? Or maybe you just don’t have the same energy you had just a couple of years ago or you just don’t “feel” fit & healthy anymore! Are these really worth worrying about?
But declining health and fitness is a trend, or direction of travel if you like, rather than an end point.
The good news is that it doesn’t have to be this way, we can all turn this around and get active again.
This book describes a simple health measure we can all use to get a snapshot of our situation. The results might be surprising and in Ian’s case they were a massive wake up call. But fortunately, it then goes on to remind us that we can change because we all have two things in common:
- The human body is designed to move
- The human body is designed to work at different metabolic levels
It then explains how we can all use the principles of Heart-rated Exercise to get moving using the most natural exercise of all, walking. And you might be surprised to hear that just about anyone can use Heart-rated Training to exercise at different metabolic levels because there is a third thing we have in common:
- The human body has 3 different energy systems
So, this simple plan explains how just about anyone can start walking and use different walking exercises, including “walking sprints", to activate our three different energy systems. You see, it is not how fast you go that makes the big difference, it is the metabolic effect you create. If you can walk, then you can do this.
The 90 Day Plan presented in Walk, Run, Train will show how to get you moving starting with just three walks a week. As you progress it introduces “walking sprints”, a safe warm up routine, three bodyweight exercises and a simple way to monitor your progress. And don’t be surprised when you feel the urge to run, it can happen to any of us!
Step by step progressions help you build new fitness and new habits. But this isn’t about ruthless discipline it’s about showing you how exercise can be fun and enjoyable. So much so that you want to build regular exercise into your life for good and enjoy the benefits that flow from that.
So, what are you waiting for?
