Kenneth Cook, Michael Joseph, London . Edition: First UK EditionCondition remarks:Book: Good Jacket: Chipped and worn with some minor damagePages: Tanning and foxing , price clippedMarkings: No markingsCondition remarks: The boards show slight discoloration with minor bumping at the spine and corners. A faded, foxed dust jacket is preserved in protective mylar, while the binding remains tight and the internal text is clean and bright despite yellowed, foxed edges. This visceral masterpiece of psychological horror chronicles the brutal disintegration of a refined schoolteacher stranded in a desolate outback town. Cook uncovers the terrifying volatility of forced hyper-masculinity and isolation, presenting a stark indictment of the destructive social rituals found within the Australian interior.
