You've tried reasoning. Pleading. Helping. Hoping. Setting boundaries. Loving harder.
So why hasn't it worked?
Because addiction doesn't just change the person struggling with it.
It changes everyone around them.
Without realizing it, families often become trapped in patterns that unintentionally keep the cycle of addiction and relapse alive.
The person you've been waiting on may not be the person who has to change first.
In You're Waiting on You, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, bestselling author, and CEO of the nation's only long-term treatment center dedicated to chronic relapse, Brook McKenzie offers families something they rarely receive.
A clear roadmap through the chaos of addiction, relapse, guilt, fear, and uncertainty.
Inside, you'll learn how to:
- Set boundaries that create consistency instead of conflict.
- Stop confusing love with rescue.
- Respond to relapse with clarity instead of panic.
- Recognize the family patterns that unknowingly sustain addiction.
- Replace fear, guilt, and exhaustion with confidence and purpose.
This isn't a book about giving up on someone you love.
It's a book about finally doing the things that give recovery its best chance.
You cannot force another person's recovery.
But you can stop standing in its way.
The waiting ends here.
