Hardcover. What happens when geological evidence, ancient testimony, Scripture, and modern scientific assumptions are placed on the same examination table?Wait: Backup - The Deluge - The Dogma - The Dragon - The Discernment investigates the biblical Flood through geology, archaeology, ancient history, fossil evidence, and Scripture. Rather than beginning with either religious tradition or scientific consensus as unquestionable authority, Mitchell D. Pinckard asks readers to examine the artifacts, patterns, and assumptions behind the competing explanations. The investigation explores catastrophic processes, sacred landscapes, mass fossil deposits, ancient flood traditions, and the widespread human memory of dragons. It also examines how dogma can form in both religious and scientific institutions-and how accepted conclusions may survive long after the evidence deserves another look. The final question is larger than the Flood itself: How do ordinary people develop discernment when confident authorities disagree? Pinckard offers a forensic method for separating observation from interpretation, evidence from reputation, and honest uncertainty from protected narrative.Written in accessible language for believers, skeptics, and curious investigators, this book does not ask readers to accept a predetermined verdict. It asks them to look again. Where evidence and faith meet, truth leaves a fingerprint. This item is printed on demand.
