Item description from seller

pp.400 with b/w. photos. and illus. 8vo. Nr. fine hardback in fine dw., just gently sunned to spine. From Eric Hosking’s library with reduced-size copy of his bookplate loosely inserted. With lengthy, very personal, dedication from Desmond and Maimie Nethersole-Thompson to "Eric and Dorothy" which begins "Friends of nearly fifty years." to half-title, and a handwritten letter (dated 29: XII: 86) from Desmond which talks of the 1930s and also of the death and funeral of a friend, Marjorie Fergusson, earlier in 1986. In his acknowledgements (and in part in his handwritten dedication), Nethersole-Thompson wrote fondly ‘Eric and Dorothy Hosking, friends of many years, worked with me in Spey Valley in 1940 and 1947; and in 1976 they visited our Sutherland wader camp where Eric took a grand series of photographs.’. Some of Eric’s photographs are featured in ‘Waders’.
