8 by 11 cms. Attractive classic Bumpus / WPB ( Barrett) bookplate. Shows a country house (known to be Chalfont House) some of the grounds and a river - with books in foreground (all music inc Bach and Brahms). Little is known of Ethel Beatrice Edgar except that valuable books with this bookplate occasionally show up online or at auction. She was married to Canadian born banker Edward Mackay Edgar and the grounds of the house were designed by Lutyens, possibly with Gertrude Jekyll. Very good indeed.
