Item description from seller

Described on the copyright page as "A New and Richly Illustrated Volume, Giving an Intensely Interesting and Brilliant Narrative of the Greatest War of all History." is essentially a compendium of news articles, reports and speeches made by others including Gen. John J. Pershing, and President Woodrow Wilson. First edition, no indication of any other printing. About 6 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches, 600 pages plus after the main text, a condensed chronology of the war, an article on the "Treaty of Peace." Also "Illuminated with Sixteen Full Page Color Plates and a Vast Array o Striking Half-Tone Illustrations." Black paper-covered boards with "New Pictorial History of the World War for Human Rights" stamped on the front cover and "World War for Human Rights" in gold on spine. Covers show quite heavy wear but are still whole and free of significant flaws or damage. However, the binding is very loose with both front and rear hinges cracked and very loose. The text block, with marbled edges is complete and reasonably firm. Front end page shows signature of previous owner but no other underlining, highlighting or markings. The text is loaded with praise and boasting for the victors and insults for the losers. It is an example of a publisher taking advantage of the victors' euphoria at the end of the war by throwing together a volume of material for a public still basking in its victory. Useful as an uncommon study copy of war era journalism and historical source material.…
