Early signature on first free endpaper of Vol. I. Illustrated by portrait frontispiece, protected by tissue guard and throughout by wood engraved vignettes. Decorated by vignettes on title pages. Ten volume uniform edition of the complete prose and verse works of Thomas Hood (1793-1845), poet, humorist and magazine publisher (including the Comic Annual) and contributor (including Punch). A seven volume edition was published 1862-63. Edited by his son, Tom Hood (1835-74), playwright and humorist and daughter, Francis Freeling Broderip (1830-78), children's author. Vol. X includes The Memorials of Thomas Hood in 468 pages. A handsomely bound set.
