Extremities a little worn and hinge starting to crack, Vol. II. A little foxing, largely confined to preliminaries, but otherwise a very good set. Early inscriptions on front pastedowns. Illustrated by 4 frontispieces and 4 engraved vignette titles and by portrait frontispiece to Memoir, Vol. II. Four volume edition of Alexander Pope, edited by George Croly (1780-1860), Irish born poet, novelist and historian. Educated at Trinity, Dublin,he was ordained in 1804 and moved to London around 1810. He served as rector of St Stephen's, Walbrook in the City of London from 1835.
