From the Author: The Proverbs: God's Way to a Life of Joy
I began an interest in the book of Proverbs as a young Christian, partially because my Dad's favorite verse throughout his life had been Proverbs 3:5, 6. I soon picked up the habit of reading through the proverbs once a month, one chapter per day. In 1989, I realized that I had never stopped to study the book thoroughly, to analyse its nuances and decifer its themes. And frankly, many of its verses were confusing and almost meaningless to me. As I studied, I began to take note of characters in the Bible who displayed either a positive or negative example of each proverb's or group of proverbs' teaching. Soon, I had quite a collection. From there, the study began to evolve into a book, which was finished in 1996. The Wisdom of Proverbs is the product of thousands of hours of study and contemplation.
