About this title

Synopsis

Occult Powers, Reincarnation & Psychic Phenomena — Six Books

This volume forms part of the 2026 edition of the Complete Collection of works by the prolific and enlightened author William Walker Atkinson. Each book has been introduced and annotated by M.C. Mesen, a renowned scholar and translator of Atkinson’s works, who has also prepared a study guide for the collection.

Volume Six brings together six of Atkinson’s most fascinating and controversial works on occult powers, psychic phenomena, reincarnation, karma, telepathy, mind reading, and crystal gazing. Written under his own name and under two of his lesser-known pen names, these books explore the hidden capacities of the human mind and the possibility that consciousness extends beyond the limits of ordinary perception.

Atkinson approaches these subjects with his characteristic combination of practical instruction, psychological analysis, philosophical reflection, and openness to unexplained phenomena. He examines telepathy and thought transmission, methods of mental perception, the interpretation of psychic impressions, and the use of crystal gazing as a means of focusing the inner faculties.

The volume also explores reincarnation and the law of karma, presenting human existence as part of a continuing process of experience, growth, consequence, and spiritual development. In Thoughts Are Things, Atkinson considers the formative power of thought and the subtle influence that mental states may exert upon character, circumstances, and human relationships.

Completing the collection is The Inner Secret; or, That Something Within, Atkinson’s only novel: the story of an ordinary man whose inner transformation leads him toward illumination and a deeper understanding of the hidden power within himself. Often considered autobiographical in spirit, the novel gives imaginative form to many of the philosophical and spiritual ideas developed throughout Atkinson’s nonfiction works.

Together, these books offer a compelling survey of the more mysterious side of Atkinson’s thought and provide essential reading for students of occult philosophy, psychic research, reincarnation, mental influence, consciousness, and spiritual awakening.

The books included in this volume are:

Practical Psychomancy and Crystal Gazing
Telepathy: Its Theory, Facts and Proof
Practical Mind Reading
Reincarnation and the Law of Karma
Thoughts Are Things
The Inner Secret; or, That Something Within
