Handsome blue cloth, light fading to spine cloth with slight scuffing at ends, gilt stamping to front board and spine remains bright. Gilt top edge; light toning and touch of foxing to fore-edge and bottom edge; strong toning to front and rear free endpapers with just light toning on opposing endpapers; past owner's ink signature (Bill Comerford) at top of half-title page; rear pastedown has presumed bookseller ticket for "Comerford | 2430 Wisconsin Ave. | Washington, D.C." Interior pages are clean. Binding is firm. A very good copy. Features 21 color plates (including frontispiece) with captioned guard sheets all illustrated by British artist John Fulleylove. Text by Mrs. A. Murray Smith. Four pages of publisher advertisements at rear.
