You've intuitively known something has been brewing under your metabolic hood for years. You plead with your practitioner for answers, only to be told you're "normal" on paper and just need to "eat less and move more." You search elsewhere and try to solve your symptoms on your own, yet despite your best efforts, you're still stuck.
Understanding what's wrong is important. Knowing what to do about it is even more important.
This is the second book in Dr. Lena Edwards' three-part Weight Loss After 40 series. While Book I explored the hidden metabolic imbalances that often sabotage weight loss after 40, Book II helps women turn that knowledge into action. Using symptoms, health history, laboratory testing, and evidence-based treatment strategies, readers will learn how to identify potential metabolic roadblocks and create a practical roadmap toward lasting solutions.
Inside, readers will discover:
• Which laboratory tests may help uncover hidden metabolic imbalances
• How to interpret common lab findings that are frequently overlooked or dismissed
• How to evaluate hormone, thyroid, adrenal, blood sugar, digestive, and nutrient-related concerns
• How to identify patterns that may be contributing to stubborn weight gain, fatigue, and other frustrating symptoms
• Common treatment approaches used to address metabolic dysfunction
• The role of nutrition, lifestyle modification, supplements, and targeted therapies in restoring balance
• How to work more effectively with healthcare practitioners and become an informed participant in your care
Rather than relying on guesswork, conflicting advice, or endless trial and error, this book provides a structured approach to understanding what your body may be trying to tell you and where to look for answers.
Book II serves as the bridge between awareness and action. Book I explains why women over 40 struggle with weight loss, while the upcoming Book III explores treatment protocols, dosing considerations, and practical implementation strategies in greater detail.
Your body isn't working against you. It's trying to tell you something. This book will help you learn how to listen.
