Volumes 5 and 7 of 7 only: 'being the first [and the third] of the third voyage'. lxvii, [69]-438; 472 pages, with 41 page Index, and 3 page catalogue at rear of 7. Two folding illustrations in vol. 5: Christmas Harbour in Kerguelen's Land, A Fiatooka or Morai in Tongataboo. A third plate: The Inside of a Hippah in New Zealand called for in the directions to the binder, is not present. Six folding illustrations in vol. 7: Karakakooa in Owyhee, An offering Before Captain Cook in the Sandwich Islands, Death of Captn. Cook, View of Bolcheretzkoiin Kamtschatka, Inside of a Winter Habitation at Kamtschatka, The Tschuktschi and Their Habitations. Unsophisticated contemporary paper over boards, with inked titles to spine - paper peeling. Upper board of 7 loose; long closed tear to page 3/4 in that volume from proximity to first illustration. The Introduction in 5 and the Index in 7 remain unopened. 6.9 x 4 inches.
