Are your RV lights suddenly not working? Is your battery constantly draining, even when your camper is plugged into shore power? Worried about expensive electrical repairs when you don't even know what's causing the problem?
Few things are more frustrating than dealing with electrical problems in your RV—especially when you're miles away from home.
One moment, everything works perfectly. The next, your lights stop working, your water pump won't turn on, or your batteries refuse to charge.
You check the fuses. They look fine. You connect to shore power. Your outlets work, but your 12-volt appliances still don't.
Now what?
RV electrical systems can be surprisingly confusing because they combine 12V DC circuits, 120V AC shore power, batteries, converters, and multiple charging sources. A problem that appears to be a dead battery might actually involve a faulty converter, corroded connection, bad ground, or damaged wiring.
And without a clear troubleshooting process, it's easy to waste hours guessing—or spend hundreds of dollars replacing perfectly good components.
DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
Why do your 120V outlets work while your 12V lights and appliances don't?
Is your RV battery draining overnight, even when everything seems turned off?
How can you tell whether the problem is your battery, converter, fuse, or wiring?
Can you use a multimeter to find electrical faults without being an expert?
What should you check before calling an RV technician or replacing expensive components?
If these questions sound familiar, this book was designed for you.
