- Book 2 of 2: The Visual Studio Code Mastery Series
Take your Visual Studio Code skills beyond the basics and build development workflows designed for modern software projects.
Visual Studio Code Advanced Workflows is the second volume in The Visual Studio Code Mastery Series, created for developers who already understand the fundamentals of Visual Studio Code and want to work more efficiently, collaborate effectively, and take advantage of advanced development capabilities.
Building on the foundations established in the first book, this guide explores the tools and practices that can transform Visual Studio Code from a simple code editor into a powerful development environment.
You will learn how to integrate Visual Studio Code with GitHub, manage collaborative development workflows, work with branches and pull requests, improve debugging strategies, create effective testing workflows, and use automation to reduce repetitive tasks.
The book also examines modern AI-assisted development, remote development environments, containerized workflows, project automation, and application deployment. These capabilities are presented from a practical perspective, helping you understand not only how to use the tools but also when they can provide the greatest benefit.
Inside this book, you will learn how to:- Build advanced Git and GitHub workflows inside Visual Studio Code.
- Manage branches, commits, merges, pull requests, and collaborative projects.
- Review and manage source code changes efficiently.
- Use GitHub features to support professional development workflows.
- Configure advanced debugging environments and troubleshoot complex applications.
- Create and manage effective testing workflows.
- Integrate AI-assisted coding tools into everyday development.
- Use AI to improve code exploration, generation, explanation, refactoring, and productivity.
- Work with remote development environments.

- Configure tasks, scripts, commands, and workflow automation.
- Prepare applications and projects for deployment.
- Improve development productivity through advanced editor features.
- Build repeatable and maintainable workflows for modern software projects.
Rather than treating these capabilities as isolated features, the book shows how they can work together as part of a cohesive development process.
By the end of this volume, you will have a deeper understanding of how to use Visual Studio Code for collaborative development, AI-assisted programming, testing, debugging, remote environments, containerized development, automation, and deployment.
Whether you are an aspiring professional developer, software engineer, web developer, Python or JavaScript developer, student, or experienced programmer looking to modernize your workflow, Visual Studio Code Advanced Workflows provides a practical path toward becoming a more efficient and capable Visual Studio Code user.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
