Prophets accurately foretold the rise and fall of Israel, the ancient wars involving the Assyrians and the Babylonians, and also prophesied the Babylonian captivity. They also indicated religious leaders who were to come, as well as the rise of, and the changes in, the Christian religion. They also accurately foretold events of the modern day, as well as the future of the world in general, and they highlighted the moral expectations they put on the peoples of both ancient and modern times. They also foretold of a wondrous and idyllic future world. Their predictions for the modern world were extraordinary, as were some of their predictions for the future of the Church.
